About the Program
The Start-Up Academy is co-organised by Aiducation international, JA Uganda and Swiss Re aiming at fostering the creation of a new generation of African entrepreneurs. It engages brilliant tertiary education students from disadvantaged backgrounds in a five-day residential camp designed to develop an understanding of business and entrepreneurship. It also encourages creative thinking and problem solving which are valuable in today’s competitive global market
The Swiss Re Start Up Academy is co-organized by Aiducation International, Junior Achievement Uganda and Swiss Re, focusing on Entrepreneurship.
At the Academy students learn how to turn any business idea they have into a business plan and learn how to implement it. It doesn’t matter if the business idea falls in the for-profit sector or the non-profit sector where they want to have impact. It also doesn’t matter if they already have an existing business: all they have to do is show interest and willingness to learn and develop their business acumen while at the Academy.
During the week students are coached by a team of Swiss Re employees from countries around the world and Ugandan coaches. This is the perfect opportunity to discover and grow their Entrepreneurial skills.
